1. PRICING AND AVAILABILITY:
Please note that prices are subject to market conditions and therefore may change without notice. Certain products may be withdrawn from sale at any time or may not be continuously in inventory. Check online or phone for the most current pricing and availability.
2. METHODS OF PAYMENT
METHODS OF PAYMENT: We accept Visa, MasterCard, money orders, wire transfers, Direct Credits, Cash and Telegraphic Transfers in $NZ Funds only. Payment can also be made via the Secure Payments page on our Website.
3. SALES TAX
SALES TAX (GST) - As at August 2007 this is 12.5% and is included in all prices unless noted. Chains Ropes and Anchors is obligated to collect sales tax (GST) on any orders shipped to any NZ address.
SALES TAX EXCEPTIONS ON DOMESTIC ORDERS: Only 2 exceptions.
1 – If the purchaser can provide a valid Temporary Import Exemption (TIE) issues by NZ Customs Service. A photocopy of the photo page of the boats Skippers Passport must accompany a TIE. These are the requirements of the NZ Inland Revenue Department (known by most as ‘the burglars’)
2 – If being shipped directly to a NZ Government approved Bond Store for direct export. In both of these occasions GST is exempt and will not be added to any invoice.
SALES TAX ON INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: International deliveries are not subject to NZ GST. The GST will not be charged on any invoice. The get a GST free price divide the price, if shown as including GST, by 1.125
4. CURRENCY:
The base currency used on this site and final transaction is $NZ. Any conversions shown on the site are applicable for that specific moment. The final number debited from a non-NZ Credit Card may vary just a little due to exchange rate fluctuations.
5. PLACING ORDERS
TO PLACE AN ORDER BY PHONE, FAX OR EMAIL:
Please have ready the item number, model number, size, style, colour, credit card number, name and address where the credit card is billed, separate shipping address (if applicable), daytime and evening phone number, email address for electronic confirmation, and all other shipping information.

BACKORDERS:
If an item is not readily available, out of stock, or subject to a manufacturer’s delay; a Chains Ropes and Anchors representative will notify you.
Chains Ropes and Anchors will not charge you for the item(s) until shipped, with the exception of items shipped directly from the manufacturer (see below).
DIRECT FACTORY SHIPMENTS (Drop Ship)
Items shipped directly from the manufacturer are pre-paid at the time the order is placed. Sometimes these direct shipments incur an additional service fee imposed by the manufacturer ($5.00 minimum) in addition to the standing initial freight charges.
6. SHIPPING
DOMESTIC:
By Courier if below 25 kilos.
North Island $0.30c per kilo up to 25 kilos.
South Island $0.60c per kilo up to 25 kilos.
If over 25 kilos your order will be freighted. Shipping costs will be calculated based on the size, weight and speed required. Please contact us prior to your order for shipping estimates.
Delivery times will be between 1-2 days from payment confirmation generally. Non-city South Island and Rural address’s can push this out to 4 days sometimes.
INTERNATIONAL:
Please contact us for shipping rates on international orders. We use NZ Post, NZC, DHL or freight depending on size, weight and speed required.
2 Options –
1- Please designate a freight forwarder and provide us with the following information – freight forwarder's full name, contact person, address, phone, and fax number along with the final destination address, contact person and phone number.
2 – We can organise shipping for you. Any international shipping organised by us will be on a CIF to Port, be it ship or air, basis only.
Shipments by Chains Ropes and Anchors are insured to the freight forwarders location only if you choose option 1. If you require insurance to the final destination, you must request the freight forwarder to insure your merchandise in full to the final destination. If you choose option 2 we will organise Insurance on the shipment to the destination port only. From there it is your responsibility.
CUSTOMS, DUTIES, AND IMPORT FEES: Chains Ropes and Anchors will assist you, however, customs procedures vary from country to country, and agent to agent. Please check with local officials regarding cost and proper procedures for labelling. Sometimes labelling your order as "Yacht in Transit" or applying for a Cruising Permit may reduce or help to avoid customs charges and/or duties.
Chains Ropes and Anchors can provide a proforma invoice if needed.
Chains Ropes and Anchors is not responsible for customs and duties charges or delays by custom officers, shipping agents, or flight delays once the shipment leaves our warehouse.
Chains Ropes and Anchors will bill for any duties and taxes that are charged back to us after the initial shipment.
7. WARRANTY INFORMATION
Satisfaction Guaranteed!
You have the right to receive your products in good condition.
If you are not entirely satisfied when you receive them, you may send them back to us in the same condition as you received them and we will happily provide you with replacements or refund your money.
This money back guarantee applies to within a 30 day period of your receiving the goods.
Once goods are returned, we will either credit your credit card or send you a cheque.
WARRANTY INFORMATION:
As how many products are used are completely out of our control we can make no warranty as to the suitability of the product for the intended use. Please make sure the product will do what you require of it.
Chains Ropes and Anchors can not warrant any of the products we sell are fit for purpose as the use of most is well beyond our control. Please make sure the product will do what you require of it.
Please read specifications regarding the Working and Safe Load Limits of all products and other important safety information on specific products before purchase to ensure it is fit for your purpose and intended use.
Due to the nature of some products and their uses, some warranties are limited.
Chains Ropes and Anchors cannot offer warranties or similar above any offered by the manufacturer.
In some cases, the manufacturer requires that you send the item to them directly for further action. Some manufacturers reserve the right to repair or replace at their discretion.

8. RETURN POLICY
RETURN POLICY: We want you to be a satisfied customer, and we need your help to maintain our low prices. Unopened products in the original packaging may be returned within 30 days for a full exchange or refund of merchandise price, excluding any freight and/or insurance charges.
Electronics, software, and electronic charts in their original, unopened packaging, and ready-to-be-sold condition can be returned within 10 days from receipt for a full refund of merchandise price.
A fee of up to 15% of the price of the product may be charged for inspection, repackaging, and restocking for unused items not returned in their original condition within the 30 days.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns older than 30 days.
NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS:
Cut goods, custom made goods, clearance items, and with few exceptions, special ordered items are not returnable, unless defective, and then for repair or replacement only at the manufacturer’s discretion.
DAMAGED GOODS:
If the product is damaged or defective you must call Chains Ropes and Anchors within 7 days of receipt of the product.
If you do need to return an item to us, please email our Customer Service Department at Office@chain.co.nz or phone in order to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number.
Repack the product in the original packaging and place inside a box suitable for shipping with all the original enclosures, parts, and accessories.
Write the RMA number clearly and conspicuously on the outside of the package.
Return it to us postage pre-paid (we do not accept C.O.D.), with the appropriate insurance.
9. JURISDICTION
All sales are made under full compliance with the laws of New Zealand including:
Fair Trading Act
Commerce Act
Sale of Goods Act
Consumer Guarantees Act
Any purchase is subject to New Zealand jurisdiction and any actions in relation to goods sold under any transaction or claims for compensation arising there from may only be brought under New Zealand Law.

MISTAKES DO HAPPEN: Typographical, photographic, pricing, and editing errors in our catalogue, flyers, advertising, and website are unintentional and we reserve the right to correct them.
